EconomyChina’s leading EV battery makers nearly double carmakers’ profits

Seven major Chinese EV battery manufacturers, including CATL, reported combined net profits of more than 50 billion yuan in the first half of the year, a 49 per cent year-on-year increase. Their profits were nearly twice those of major carmakers as domestic EV demand weakened, widening the industry’s profitability gap.
