Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) is celebrating after exit polls projected it would win more than 44% of the vote in Saxony-Anhalt. The party called the result “historic”, but cannot know whether it can govern until it is clear which smaller parties pass the 5% threshold and enter the state parliament.
