FIFA confirmed that President Gianni Infantino will stand for re-election in 2027. Elected in 2016, he has since won two more terms without an opposing candidate. UEFA said its 55 member associations voted to boycott FIFA-sponsored tournaments after Infantino proposed selling a share of World Cup commercial rights; CONCACAF also rejected the plan.
