Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev said Moscow had not “burned bridges” in relations with Berlin and hoped Germany’s political establishment would come to its senses. He said ties were at a freezing point and stressed that the sacrifices of 700,000 Soviet soldiers buried in Germany, along with earlier efforts at reconciliation, must not be forgotten.
