Yury Trutnev, Russia’s presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, said Norway’s authorities would ultimately have to release the Russian research vessel Professor Molchanov and its passengers. The vessel was detained in Spitsbergen at the request of Ukraine’s Naftogaz and remains barred from leaving its anchorage pending a decision by the Spitsbergen governor.
