A villager in Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province, discovered a small animal curled up by the roadside after hearing a dog bark early in the morning. Forestry officials identified the animal as a female Chinese pangolin, a national first-class protected species, estimated to be 4 to 5 months old, and returned it safely to the wild.
