Science55 wetland bird species breed at Shangri-La’s Napa Lake

Napa Lake in Shangri-La, Yunnan, hosted breeding by 55 wetland bird species and more than 2,000 birds this summer. Conservation efforts have improved the reserve’s ecosystem, with black-necked cranes increasing from 61 in 1984 to a record 573 in 2026.
