World700 meters to go: Rescuers race to reopen highway to mudslide-hit Gyirong Port
By Tuesday afternoon, rescuers had restored the G216 national highway to within 700 meters of mudslide-hit Gyirong Port in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region. Crews are working around the clock to reopen the route and allow key equipment, personnel and supplies into the disaster area.
