EconomyBank of Russia extends foreign-currency cash withdrawal restrictions until March 2027

The Bank of Russia has prolonged limits on foreign-currency cash withdrawals for six months, through March 9, 2027. It attributed the measure to sanctions that prevent domestic financial institutions from obtaining Western cash currencies. For accounts opened before March 9, 2022, the ceiling remains the balance then held, capped at $10,000 or the euro equivalent; remaining funds may be withdrawn in rubles.
