CultureMurmansk Region’s oldest nickel mine to become a museum
The Kaula-Kotselvaara mine in the Pechenga District, decommissioned in 2023 after its ore reserves were depleted, is planned for conversion into a museum with exhibitions inside the actual mine. The Second School Center is also developing Nickel’s industrial heritage as a tourism attraction, including routes, audio tours and festivals.
