CulturePortugal: Kiala aims to bring Black authors from the margins to the heart of publishing
Founded by Elga Fontes, Kiala entered the publishing market in May to address the shortage of Black authors and demonstrate that their work extends beyond racism, discrimination and suffering. It plans to release two books in 2026, with its 2027 list already agreed.
