Panchen Erdeni Chos-kyi rGyal-po led a Buddhist ceremony at Tashilhunpo Monastery in Xigaze on Monday for people affected by the mudslide in Gyirong County. The 90-minute sutra chanting was attended by more than 200 monks and religious representatives. At least 16 people have been confirmed dead and 546 remain missing after the disaster struck Gyirong Port on the China-Nepal border.
