TechXRPL consensus freezes after 12% of central nodes are removed, but a simple tweak triples defense
A new XRP Ledger study finds that adding two or three random peer connections per participating node can sharply increase the share of nodes that a modeled attack must remove to disrupt consensus. Using a 2022 network snapshot, the researchers found that a few evenly distributed links create alternate paths while preserving more of the original topology. Current real-world resilience remains unresolved.
