The US says Iceland will remain a valuable NATO member despite voters rejecting the resumption of EU accession talks. State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said Washington respected the sovereign decision and looked forward to strengthening ties with Iceland in security, energy, innovation, and economic and cultural relations.
