Ethiopia’s Addisu Gobena and Kenya’s world champion Peres Jepchirchir won the men’s and women’s Sydney Marathon races. Gobena set a course record of 2:04:42 for his first World Marathon Major victory, while Jepchirchir won in 2:18:31. A record 40,000 runners took part.
