WorldHumanitarian crisis worsens in Sudan refuge for civilians fleeing civil war

Conditions in El Obeid and two nearby camps are dire and deteriorating as civilians flee fighting between Sudan’s armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces. The UN says more than 15,000 families have arrived since mid-July, joining over 200,000 people displaced there during the first half of the year. New arrivals often come on foot with almost nothing, facing food shortages and trauma.
