Two pizza-making robots at Seattle’s Moto Pizza became nearly useless after their supplier, Picnic, abruptly shut down in May. Despite failures by Picnic, Zume, Pazzi and Basil Street, the industry continues pursuing automation. Moto Pizza founder Lee Kindell is developing his own machine, hoping to launch a fully operational version by summer 2027.
