EconomySEC reviews automatic filing pathways as exotic crypto and event-linked ETF proposals flood market
The SEC is examining whether its automatic filing framework gives regulators enough time and authority to assess increasingly specialized ETFs. The agency’s June 30 request for comment covers crypto assets, commodities, leveraged and single-stock products, private assets, blockchain opportunities and event contracts, with comments due Aug. 31. US ETF assets exceeded $12 trillion at the end of 2025, up from more than $4 trillion in 2019.
