Norway has begun a period of national mourning after the death of King Harald V at 89. Crowds gathered outside the Oslo palace, while his son Haakon VIII became king after an extraordinary council of state and adopted the motto “All for Norway”. The armed forces fired a 21-gun salute in tribute.
