TechMiniMax expands Alibaba Cloud pact as AI computing needs surge

Chinese AI firm MiniMax has raised the three-year spending ceiling for its cloud-computing deals with Alibaba Group by 220% to US$1.2 billion, highlighting surging computing demand among the country’s leading AI developers. It plans to spend up to US$300 million on Alibaba Cloud services this year after using two-thirds of its budget by the end of June.
