TechMeta settles states’ child-safety claims for $18B; Florida rejects deal as “peanuts”
Meta agreed to settle child-safety claims with nearly every U.S. state for almost $18 billion, ending a trial over alleged addictive product design and warnings about mental-health risks. The deal would impose a default two-hour daily limit for under-18s, overnight blocking and school mode, but still needs court approval. Florida rejected it as “peanuts.”
