WorldNigeria launches hunt for hundreds of kidnapped mosque worshippers

Nigeria has begun a coordinated military and security operation to rescue an estimated 600 worshippers abducted from mosques near Dekera village in Niger State last week. President Bola Tinubu ordered the mission as mass ransom kidnappings rise in the north, making security a sensitive issue ahead of January’s presidential election. Authorities have not confirmed who was responsible.
