CultureArchaeologists unearth 15th-century hoard of 2,600 silver coins near Moscow
Rescue excavations in Kolomna, southeast of Moscow, have uncovered a jug containing 2,600 silver dengas buried in the first third of the 15th century. The Institute of Archaeology says the intact hoard is the largest collection of coins from its period available to researchers and includes a previously unknown flying-bird design.
