The Sun produces helium-3, and some of it reaches the Moon in the solar wind. With no magnetic field or atmosphere to block the particles, helium-3 has accumulated in lunar soil and can be mixed below the surface when meteorite impacts churn the regolith. A Seattle company is attempting to recreate that process.
