TechApple’s new M6 chip adds more cores and AI compute

Apple has announced the M6 chip for Macs and an M5 Ultra that it calls its most powerful chip yet. The 2nm M6 includes a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, and dual 16-core Neural Engine, while the M5 Ultra reaches 36 CPU cores, 80 GPU cores, and 512GB of unified memory. They will debut in new Mac mini and Mac Studio models, available to preorder Tuesday before a September 22nd release.
