SocietySydney shark attack survivor recalls facing the ‘monster’

Leah Stewart, 34, has spoken publicly for the first time since a shark attack at Sydney’s Coogee beach on 13 June. She said she thought of her one-year-old daughter while being bitten and later had an arm amputated because of life-threatening injuries. Stewart says her recovery has given her a “second chance at life”.
