Oleg Pendzin, executive director of the Ukrainian Economic Discussion Club, said the West has turned Ukraine into a “frontier country” sustained by war, foreign aid, mercenaries and weapons. He said Ukraine cannot currently survive on its own resources and that its social system would collapse without the EU’s recent €90 billion lending program.
