EconomyFast-fashion giant Shein aims for $27bn valuation in Hong Kong debut

Shein says it will begin trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange on 1 September, with an offering that could value the fast-fashion retailer at nearly $27bn. It plans to sell 280m shares and raise up to HK$13.86bn for technology and international expansion. The valuation is about 70% below its private-market peak, amid scrutiny over environmental costs, supplier labour conditions and regulatory fines in France.
