WorldStephen Walt: Trump has ‘run out of options’ in Iran war
Harvard international relations professor Stephen Walt says Donald Trump promised to make the United States stronger, but many of his policies are weakening it. Walt argues that Trump’s unpredictability is not improving the US position in the Iran war because Iran has no reason to trust his statements. He describes the conflict as a “hurting stalemate” in which both sides are waiting for the other to crack, and sees no opening for a genuine political solution on the Palestinian-Israeli front.
