TechUS AI companies cut prices as large-model competition intensifies
Competition in the AI large-model market is intensifying as US companies cut prices. OpenAI said it would immediately reduce the developer benchmark price for GPT-5.6 Sol by more than 20% for three months, after other cuts of 20% for mid-tier models and 80% for lower-cost models. Alphabet’s Google launched Gemini 3.7 Flash at about half the previous version’s price. US media said Chinese firms’ open-source and pricing strategies are adding pressure.
