WorldIndonesia bolsters troop numbers to combat Borneo wildfires

Indonesia is sending 1,500 additional soldiers and six helicopters to Kalimantan to help contain wildfires that burned more than 200,000 hectares from January through July. The fires have produced thick smog across Borneo, with unhealthy air recorded in parts of Malaysia’s Sarawak and residents urged to wear masks and stay indoors.
