Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently adopted a more casual Instagram persona, posting a “get ready with me” reel and selfie-style messages that address young people as “friends.” The shift followed youth protests that spread through memes, livestreams and reels and eventually contributed to a federal minister’s resignation. Many young Indians remain sceptical, saying the videos do not address the concerns behind the protests.
