SportsCanadian marathon route was 674m too long

Organisers of the 2026 Edmonton Marathon acknowledged that construction-related changes near Wellington Bridge mistakenly added 674.7 metres to the course. Because the race is often used to qualify for the Boston Marathon, some runners may have lost eligibility or personal-best times. Organisers are consulting Athletics Canada and others on how to recognise the results.
