Ukraine’s parliament confirmed President Volodymyr Zelensky’s defense minister nominee, former senior SBU officer Yevhen Khmara, by 312 votes on Aug. 19; 226 were required. The decision ends Mykhailo Fedorov’s hopes of returning to the post, which protesters had demanded during demonstrations outside parliament.
