Chinese researchers have developed a direct, precise method for detecting trace rare-earth impurities in high-purity rare-earth materials, overcoming longstanding matrix interference. Using ICP-MS/MS without matrix separation, the technique improves sensitivity, accuracy and testing speed and is already used by producers and testing institutions for quality control.
