The Eastern Star link 05/06 satellites were launched into orbit in early August aboard a Jielong-3 rocket from Shandong’s Haiyang Oriental Spaceport. Developed by Wuhan University and two Chinese commercial space companies, they can process hyperspectral data in orbit, potentially cutting response times from days to minutes and improving data use.
