HealthDR Congo Ebola outbreak becomes country's deadliest on record

Government data show that Ebola has killed 2,325 people and infected 4,945 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as of August 16, surpassing the country’s 2018–2020 outbreak. The Bundibugyo-strain outbreak is spreading faster than teams can track, with beds for suspected cases full in North Kivu. At least 155 health workers have been infected and 45 have died. The UN is adding funding and urging expanded burial, treatment and contact-tracing capacity.
