Nearly a week after a magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck western Colombia, authorities are still assessing the destruction. More than 290 people have died and the UN says over 135,000 were affected. In Pereira, emergency relief is shifting toward the longer task of providing shelter, restoring essential services and rebuilding lives, with citizens elsewhere also joining the effort.
