Alibaba’s Taobao Flash Sale is adding riders’ time spent waiting at red lights to their delivery allowance. The system automatically identifies and records the wait, with an initial rollout covering all platform riders in Qingdao’s Jimo District. The platform is also using AI safety reminders, training and incentives to reduce risks.
