PoliticsRussian opposition politician Lev Shlosberg sentenced to more than 11 years for calling for an end to the Ukraine war
A Pskov City Court judge sentenced Yabloko deputy chair Lev Shlosberg to 11 years and one month in a penal colony for repeatedly “discrediting” Russia’s military and spreading “false information” about the Armed Forces. Shlosberg has remained in Russia while publicly opposing the war and urging a swift ceasefire. His three defense lawyers were absent during closing arguments, and the judge rejected a postponement and repeatedly interrupted his final statement.
