TechYouTube is changing view counts to make numbers rise faster

YouTube will count a view as soon as a video begins playing from August 24, matching Instagram, TikTok, and Shorts. Its previous method will remain as an “engaged views” metric in Analytics, and the platform says the change will not affect creator earnings or YouTube Partner Program eligibility.
