ScienceChina, Solomon Islands advance seaweed blue carbon cooperation
A cross-border seaweed blue carbon project between China and the Solomon Islands has developed 2,951 tonnes of carbon sinks. Led by Zhangzhou’s ocean and fisheries authority, it applies Chinese expertise to Solomon Islands seaweed aquaculture and establishes systems for carbon-sink accounting, traceability and trading. The first transaction covered 61 tonnes for 6,000 yuan.
