China will provide Colombia with emergency cash assistance and humanitarian supplies for disaster response and reconstruction, according to a Chinese development agency spokesperson. A magnitude-7.5 earthquake struck western Colombia on August 10, killing more than 280 people, injuring thousands and destroying over 12,000 homes across several cities, including hospitals and schools.
