WorldMount Etna eruption and volcanic ash shut Sicily’s busiest airport

Continuing activity at Mount Etna has forced Sicily’s busiest airport, Vincenzo Bellini Airport, to close. Flights will be suspended until at least 2pm local time on Saturday, leaving hundreds stranded. More than a third of flights were cancelled and another 600 diverted during the previous week-long period.
