WorldUN says July was Ukraine’s worst month for civilian casualties in more than four years

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission reported that at least 437 civilians were killed and 2,610 injured in Ukraine in July 2026, the highest monthly toll since May 2022. Russian long-range missile and drone strikes caused the largest share of casualties, while short-range drone attacks and strikes on ships and port infrastructure in Odesa and Mykolaiv also exacted a heavy toll and disrupted Black Sea shipments.
