Hungary’s purchases of Russian pipeline gas fell 12.5% in value terms in the first half of 2026, but the country remained the largest buyer among EU members, according to Eurostat data and TASS calculations. The EU imported €542 million worth of the gas in June, with Hungary accounting for €218 million.
