Freight turnover between Russian and Chinese ports along the Northern Sea Route totals 5.4 million tons annually, or nearly 15% of the route’s overall cargo traffic, Rosatom official Azamat Khochuev said. Total NSR cargo has surpassed 37 million tons, while India and other Asia-Pacific countries are also showing interest in using the route.
