ScienceChinese, Kyrgyz Archaeologists Complete First Joint Excavation Season at Shurabashat Ruins
Chinese and Kyrgyz archaeologists have completed their first joint field season at the Shurabashat Ancient City Ruins in southern Kyrgyzstan. They mapped a 1.3-square-kilometer walled settlement that may be more than 2,000 years old, documenting walls, gates, corner towers and high-platform buildings. Cooperation will continue on excavation, research and digital preservation.
