TechFord’s $28,000 Fathom EV nears production after $2 billion factory overhaul

Ford says its next-generation electric pickup, the $28,000 Fathom, will enter production at the overhauled Louisville Assembly Plant in the first quarter of 2027, initially as prototypes. The truck will launch Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle Platform, while a new assembly-tree process is intended to cut costs and speed production.
