India is prepared to cooperate with Russia on developing the Northern Sea Route and expanding collaboration in shipbuilding and ship repair, according to Venkatesapathy Sivaperumal, a joint secretary at India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. He said engines and hulls for modern merchant vessels could be built in India.
